Planning Your Visit

Ash Cave

Once you see how much there is to do in this part of Southeast Ohio, you’ll plan to come back over and over again. The Hocking Hills Tourism Association  and hockinghills.com websites provide a wealth of information on activities such as fishing, horseback riding, zip lining, and golfing as well as, dining, and shopping ideas. Below are a few of our tried and true favorites that we love! For more ideas, take a look at the journals found in each cabin. Our guests enjoy sharing their journeys!

Activities

The hiking trails at Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Old Man’s Cave, Conkle’s Hollow, Rockbridge, and Cantwell Cliffs are always favorites. We also like to visit the other major parks in the area like Tar Hollow State ForestZaleski State Forest, and Wayne National Forest  and recommend Clear Creek Nature Preserve.

Picnicking in any season can be fun, including the winter! Fill a thermos with hot soup and enjoy it as a warm treat on the trail!

Dining

The fresh donuts at The Ridge Inn are the reason that everyone says you should go, but we like the meatloaf, too! The donuts don’t last long, so be sure that you get there before they’re gone!

If you are planning a big hike, or even a leisurely stroll, a hardy sandwich at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge would be a great place to stop. We like fueling up on a beer and brisket sandwich.

For wine lovers, the Hocking Hills Winery is about a half hour drive to Logan. Worth the drive, the winery offers a beautiful tasting room and huge outdoor patio with fireplace. There is live entertainment on the weekends.

Grocery Stores

Young’s Family Market is a full service grocery located eight miles from the cabins in Laurelville. Call (740) 332-8822. Walmart is about thirty minutes away in Logan.

Gas Station

The closest gas station to our property is located eight miles away in Laurelville on State Route 56.
